Established in 2004, Berkeley Rugby Football Club (BRFC) is the oldest men's rugby club in the East Bay (which includes Oakland, Berkeley, Hayward, Fremont, Alameda, and Concord). BRFC currently plays in the Second Division of the Northern California Rugby Football Union (NCRFU).
BRFC is the mens' team of the East Bay Rugby Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to fostering the growth of rugby in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2004, BRFC has had over 300 players from 42 different countries play for the team. BRFC embraces players from all backgrounds and from all experience levels and promotes the game through videos, seminars and other content.
